Have been working on a growing collection of small Have been working on a growing collection of smaller paint stroke sculptures. These little wall gems are now presented as single pieces mounted on a wooden panel 30x40cm. But of course they can also be mounted directly on the wall and combined into a new work/composition. Each piece is mounted by a unique 360 degrees pivot system that allows you to catch light and shadow, and adjust it to your own composition and (lights)situation. Hereby bringing something of yourself into the piece, reflecting the inner and outer world, ever changing.

My fascination for gem stones and crystals -and I My fascination for gem stones and crystals -and I have to admit, mostly everything that reflects, shines or sparkles - started at an early age.

I must have been around 5 years old when my eye fell on a large purple crystal stone in my grandfathers’ living room. I was totally amazed by the sparkles/reflection/transparency and colors. Also I remember that it had to be something special in the sense that it was “off limits” and not to be played with by a five year old. I think it was this moment that grew out into a huge fascination for crystals and gems and around my 10th birthday I had my own precious collection of crystals, gem stones, minerals and fossils.

Round that time my granddad passed away I remember that my dad bought me a small pick hammer and together we spend lots of vacation time looking for that one rock that might reveal a hidden story, something beautiful yet to be discovered. Definitely some blood, sweat and tears went into it. There were important lessons learned there, that even now are helpfull, maybe even essential, on my creative path.

When I became a bit older, for a time I guess I lost interest in the world of crystals and gems. Perhaps due to the fact that I started to see that it was highly associated with these kind of spiritual stores that had so much perfume in the air that I could barely stand it. 🤣

But I so often think back of some of the lessons I got from my dad in this period of time. Memories that truly feel like treasures now he’s gone.

This week I sold this piece, build out of my fathers’ handwriting, Filled with purple Amethyst gem stones, dug up by using that same little hammer from 30 years ago, containing a hidden beauty that could only be revealed/created by following its own true message.

For me it was all about remembering/honoring where I come from to find my way forward.💛
I feel blessed this piece has found a new home.

Fuck (y)our fears
people.
